Spotlighting Unite Us Projects
-
King County Workforce Development Council
I designed, implemented, and evaluated a social determinants of health referral partnership with the Workforce Development Council of Seattle & King County, the largest unemployment services non-profit in Washington State. In collaboration, I built partnerships with 40+ affiliate community organizations, overcoming state bureaucratic barriers and addressing data privacy concerns. After securing buy-in, we co-produced training materials and held weekly check-ins to support stakeholders, while I crafted concise communication materials for both internal and external audiences. I also provided regular reports to management and presented to the nationwide engagement team on implementing similar strategies in their regions.

Seattle-King County Clinic
A company goal was to develop innovative partnerships to improve product usage. As a result, I spearheaded a 211-partnership event for the Seattle-King County Clinic. The Seattle-King County Clinic is the state's largest free medical, dental, and vision clinic, serving low-income and unhoused 3000+ patients in 4 days. I accomplished all the preparations within a 1.5 month timeline, whereas similar organizations contracted with the clinic a year in advance. I crafted the project, managed timelines with internal and external stakeholders, and led daily Unite Us operations at the clinic. Following the clinic, I lead a presentation to 150 internal staff at a company-wide meeting on unique partnership strategies and field implementation. I also drafted a blueprint for the implementation strategy to be reproduced in different regions.

Design, Implementing, and Evaluating Social Determinants of Health Referral Programs
As a Community Engagement Manager, I developed a partnership with the Parent-Child Assistance Program (PCAP), a substance use disorder and community health project, to create a referral partnershop for people who can are pregnant who might be experiencing homelessness, substance misuse, or severe mental illness. I consulted with PCAP leadership and service users to design a service plan that respected client privacy by omitting sensitive information. After two months of careful communication, PCAP agreed to partner with us, resulting in a successful collaboration. I adaptably replicated similar processes with between 600-1000 partners across my tenure at Unite Us, with some needing high-touch support and others needing little support.

Policy Support to Advance Social Determinants of Health
The Unite Us team in Washington had a business strategy focused on partnering with government agencies, particularly with Departments of Health, Medicare and Medicaid services, and affiliated agencies. Medicaid 1115 waivers in Washington aimed to address the Social Determinants of Health (SDoH), and Unite Us worked diligently to advocate for a partnership to operationalize SDoH and reimburse community organizations for their social services. As a Community Engagement Manager and Customer and Community Success Manager, I supported the policy team in several ways. I facilitated meetings with the WA Department of Corrections, presented local and statewide referral data to senior policy stakeholders, and led internal policy communications between engagement, policy, and sales team.
